Description

Take the first step in your journey to becoming a trad climber! During the clinic, attendees will practice placing trad gear in real rock formations. Mentors will help attendees evaluate their placements and provide feedback. Participants will learn tips and tricks for removing trad gear, aka “cleaning”.

We will be hiking about a mile into the clinic site. We will be in the woods for 3-4 hours, please bring any personal items you need to enjoy your time there. 

Note: This clinic will NOT involve climbing.

Goals

  • Gain familiarity with different types of trad gear

  • Practice placing, evaluating, and removing (”cleaning”) gear

Required Gear - you will provide this gear, no rental options are available

  • Hiking Shoes

  • Drinking Water

  • Weather-appropriate clothing (layers)

  • Harness

Optional Gear - we will provide this gear, you are welcome to use your own

  • Any trad gear you have

  • Bugspray
